A little girl watches airplanes scratch the sky: it’s 1978 in a Chinese province. She dreams of catching one, someday. It means being free, growing up. She tells this to her grandmother, who works at an old wooden loom. In this way, Jenny’s desires intertwine like threads with the events of their first day in New York, as 20 years later, she did manage to catch that plane. And now everything is new, almost frightening. She will have to cling to a small piece of fabric her grandmother gave her, so as not to lose herself. Based on the true story of Lush Decor’s founder, Jenny Jing Zhu, and inspired by Jenny’s book, Dream Weaver.
